Ahtahkakoop First Nation #104
Departments
Greeting from
the Health Director
Chief Ahtahkakoop took the liberty of entering
into Treaty arrangements in 1876. One of the guarantees was our right
to Health "The Medicine Chest" which every household would
be provided. The chest would provide the necessary medicines and doctors
required and all health services available.
Health is so vital and important for all of us. Let us not take Health for granted, without it, where are we? Let us not abuse our minds, body, and that special right that is so crucial and precious. Let us practice the four elements that each of us were granted, the Physical, Mental, Educational, and Spiritual aspects of life and Health.
I close with a quote of an unknown author, "People are not mind, spirit, body or emotions, we are all of them acting together, intermingling affecting one another. To abuse any part of who we are affects the totality of ourselves."
Respectfully,
Wayne Ahenakew - Director of Health
