The Ahtahkakoop Health Centre is currently seeking Medical Taxi Driver
Permanent Full Time Position - 3 month probation period
Reports to Transportation Coordinator
Purpose of Position
To ensure the safe transportation of clients to various medical facilities, Doctor and Specialists for appointments/treatment or other reasons relating to the personal health and well being of the client.
· valid Class 5 Driver license
· clean Drivers abstract with no pending or current insurance restrictions
· current CPIC
Duties and Responsibilities:
Able to work long and often irregular hours.
Arrange regular repairs, general maintenance and cleaning of the vehicles.
Conduct a daily vehicle inspection and complete the daily inspection log.
Maintain and submit weekly accurate, up to date records detailing fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that may be requested by the Medical Transportation Coordinator.
Pick up clients at designated locations and transport them to their desired medical facility for appointment/treatment/follow-up.
Maintain secure handling of all documents and records.
Complete trip records.
To demonstrate punctuality, and display a manner that is courteous, friendly and helpful at all times.
To conduct his/herself in a manner that displays respect, responsibility and alertness at all times.
To ensure they do not consume alcohol or drugs(prescription or illegal), during a twenty-four hour period before operating a Taxi. The abilities and good judgment of the Driver must never be impaired or compromised by any consumption.
The ability to speak the Cree language is an asset.
