The ADI teaches the community and the school about Food Security by providing:
Foot Care
An LPN works with the ADI outreach worker that provides foot care for the Community. Some of the services they provide are:
Home Visits
The ADI Program goes out and visits Community Members to:
Screening Days Monday and Wednesday
School Education
The ADI program will go to the school and do presentations for the classrooms on such tops like:
Exercise Program
- The ADI program hosts classes that supports at risk families to make healthier life skill choices and practices by exercising and cooking together

- Support/making referrals (Home Care, Nurse Practitioner, Mental Health, Addictions, Home Care) if needed
Community Events
The ADI programs does numerous activities and programs for the community such as:
- Annual National Diabetes Awareness Day
- Community Vigil Walk for Healing
- Hold events in March for Nutrition Month
- Host events for Diabetes month in November
Diabetic Education
Educate new Diabetic clients on:
- Medication
- Insulin
- Meters
- Foot Screening and care
- Reassurance visits
- Referrals
Diabetes Classes
The ADI program has different classes and activities for the community which include:
- Living with Diabetes
- How Diabetes Work
- Healthy eating and keeping active
- What is Insulin/Medication
- Depression and Diabetes
- Nutrition Budget Cooking
- Grocery Store Tours
Food Security
The ADI teaches the community and the school about Food Security by providing:
- Monthly ninamawimicisonan Vegetable and Fruit Market
- Helping the community with individual Nutrition plans
Foot Care
An LPN works with the ADI outreach worker that provides foot care for the Community. Some of the services they provide are:
- Basic foot care
- Evaluations
- Referrals: Please contact the ADI Outreach worker when the LPN will be at the clinic.
Home Visits
The ADI Program goes out and visits Community Members to:
- Introduce the ADI Program and other services available
- Foot care Screening
- Give clients information on upcoming activities
Screening Days Monday and Wednesday
- The ADI program holds screening for A1C, BG Screening (available, through Lab only)
School Education
The ADI program will go to the school and do presentations for the classrooms on such tops like:
- Healthy Eating
- Healthy Me Group which is whoever is interested in losing weight, eating healthy, and getting healthy
