Home Visitors for the Head Start Program
 
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
​The Home Visitor shall perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned including but not limited to home visits with parents of children and to establish, build and maintain positive supportive relationships based on program guidelines.


  • Grade 12 or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • ECE Level 1,2, or 3
  • Knowledge of early childhood development
  • Non-judgmental, accepting and ability to relate to individuals and families who may not share the same basic value systems and norms
  • Maturity and life experiences relating to child-rearing
  • Demonstrates motivation and the ability to learn and practices basic supportive skills
  • Good interpersonal communication, time management, prioritization and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain clear, comprehensive written records of family contact
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in relation to work
  • Able to work as a member of a team
  • Extensive knowledge of the Aboriginal community and Aboriginal culture
  • Valid driver’s license

The Head Start/E.A. will provide assistance to the Head Start Coordinator in the regular day-to-day Head Start activities/classroom instruction.

 
QUALIFICATIONS:
​For the purposes of determining an employees’ salary classification to the Ahtahkakoop salary grid in place the individual designated as Level 1 must possess a Grade 12 education or equivalent. Level 2 must possess a certificate from an accredited post secondary institution specializing in Early Childhood Education or Educational Assistant. Level 3 must possess a diploma from an accredited post secondary institution specializing in Early Childhood Education or Educational Assistant.

The ability to speak/understand the Cree language is an asset. A valid Driver’s License is required for this position.

Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation is seeking an enthusiastic individual to assist finance and accounting staff with the data entry of the general ledger entries, post receipts, disbursements, reviews coding and reconciles bank statements. This employee will function under the supervision of the Director of Finance.
 
Position:      GENERAL LEDGER CLERK
Type:           Full-Time Employment–Six (6) month probationary period
Salary:         Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience
         
SUMMARY: Under direct supervision, THE GENERAL LEDGER CLERK maintains the Chart of Accounts and ensures that correct accounting codes are applied for all programs and departments of the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation Band.
 
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- For purposes of determining an employees’ salary classification to the Ahtahkakoop salary grid, the individual designated as Level 2.0 must hold a diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution specializing in accounting, administration or commerce. Alternatively, the individual designated as Level 1.0 should have a certificate in any of the above mentioned faculties complimented by a combination of training and/or experience in accountancy or bookkeeping.

- Effective use of ACCPAC and Excel software is an asset.
- Knowledge of principles and procedures of accounting and public finance.
- Must provide a Criminal Records Check

JOB SUMMARY:
The Consultant is accountable to provide leadership and strategic consultation and support to a broad range of multiple functional areas.
As a member of SaskPower’s management team, this position is responsible to research, develop, recommend and implement strategic
and operational programs, policies and procedures regarding SaskPower’s organizational structure, operations and managerial methods;
ensuring alignment with both departmental and corporate goals and objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Provide strategic and confidential consultation and advice on a broad range of multiple functions, while providing creative solutions to the
organization related to the management and day-to-day operations of the organization
• Lead and participate in projects identifying current and future business needs, industry best practices, opportunities and challenges of the
organization or department(s); providing recommendations and executing operational improvements to methods, systems and procedures
that impact SaskPower’s operations and people
• Lead and participate in cross-functional work teams, strategic planning initiatives, workshops and meetings in order to develop innovative
and practical business solutions
• Develop, organize and deliver presentations, reports and briefings for internal and external audiences
• Drive and facilitate change, including making change happen throughout the organization through the implementation of strategic projects
or initiatives
• Develop and maintain strategic networks and business relationships both internal and external to SaskPower in order to foster a positive
and productive work environment
• Provide leadership and direction to project teams, corporate programs and/or assigned staff as required

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, Social Sciences or other related equivalent AND/OR;
• Certificate in Indigenous Engagement or other related equivalent AND/OR;
• Five (5) years of experience in a front-facing customer services function and/or experience working with Indigenous communities
• Experience in billing and collections activities would be considered an asset
• Team leader and member with the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships both internal and external to SaskPower
• Results oriented thinker, with the ability to manage and provide advice regarding complex and confidential issues with sensitivity and
professionalism
• Ability to impact and influence others while holding people accountable
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work and manage in a changing environment
• Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, project management and decision making skills
• Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation and teamwork
• Demonstrated skill in SaskPower’s competencies
• Must have a continuing record of professional development

SUMMARY: Under direct supervision, The HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT is responsible for initiating and coordinating the; operational, clerical and secretarial functions required in the day to day operations of the Human Resource Department with duties up to and including payroll for the Band.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  1. A diploma specializing in the Human Resource field, Payroll or Administration would be an asset.
  2. Payroll training and experience required.
  3. Mitre Finch software training & experience would be an asset.
  4. Two plus years of Training and/or experience in Payroll, H.R. administration or office management.

Position:      Agricultural Benefits Director
Type:           Full-Time Term Employment–Six (6) month probationary period

SUMMARY: The Agricultural Benefits Director takes direction from the Trust Fund Board to ensure the prudent management of trust funds, ensuring they are invested and administered in accordance with the trust instrument and legal requirements.
The Agricultural Benefits Director also plays a pivotal role in ensuring that funds from the Agricultural Settlement are disbursed accurately and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
This position involves meticulous financial management, record-keeping, beneficiary communication, reporting, and coordination with various stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Business, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA designation preferred).
  • Proven experience in trust fund management or a similar financial management role.
  • Strong knowledge of investment principles, financial markets, and asset allocation strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to trust fund management and fund disbursement.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Ethical conduct and a commitment to transparency.
  • Proficiency in record-keeping and data management.
