The Holistic Wellness Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Health Services.

Position: HOLISTIC WELLNESS COORDINATOR
Type: FULL TIME TERM POSITION – Six(6) month probationary period.

SUMMARY: The Holistic Wellness Coordinator will provide/coordinate therapeutic services to various individuals including children, adolescents, adults, and elderly clients. They operate in an outreach environment, such as homes, schools, and/or community agents.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

SUMMARY: The Emergency Management Coordinator is responsible for preparing and maintaining thorough response plans that allows for prompt action and readiness in the event of a disaster or safety threat. The incumbent is expected to take a proactive and analytical approach when identifying response measures to ensure a high degree of confidence and reliability. This job position would implement the necessary response plan, and function as the lead coordinator where actual, imminent and/or potential emergencies arise.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • post-secondary education or professional training in a related discipline and/or years of experience in like position
  • experience working within the area(s) of Public Health and/or Emergency Response
  • strong planning and organizational skills
  • good public-speaking and communication skills are required
  • able to work calmly and effectively in high pressure environments or situations

SUMMARY: The Administrator provides direction, management, and leadership in the administrative, business planning, accounting, budgeting, and automation efforts of the Band and its programs. The Administrator will prepare all necessary reporting documents on behalf of the Band for submission to the funding agency(ies). He/she should be knowledgeable of various funding agencies and adhere to the applicable reporting requirements of the Ahtahkakoop First Nation Management Reporting Calendar for their respective programs and/or department.  He/She should be familiar with the terms and conditions of various funding arrangements, funding methodologies, funding formulas, and departmental policies to ensure funding allocations for Ahtahkakoop First Nation are accurate. To Oversee and direct all staff in the local administration and to facilitate regular scheduled meetings for staff under their authority.

Post Majority Support Services Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Ahtahkakoop Child & Family Services Inc. is seeking a Post Majority Support Services Coordinator who will work collaboratively with integrated family services to ensure a successful transition to independence. The primary objective is to provide education and awareness to communities about supports available through the program. Assist and support any initial contact with young people who have aged out of the child welfare system so that they continue to be supported as young adults. This position participates as a team overseeing program development implementation and evaluation of the Post Majority Support Services program.

Qualifications:
  • Must possess a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW or BISW) and a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge and commitment to the FSIN Child Welfare and Family Support Act. The Child and Family Services Act.
  • Must be computer literate and able to work effectively on database programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of the Cree culture and language would be an asset.
  • Able to make decisions while working under pressure.

Summary: The Director of Governance will be required to work with the overall management team of Ahtahkakoop to oversee the strategic planning, board administration and play a key role in influencing the overall strategic direction of Ahtahkakoop Council, Management, and Staff. The successful candidate will be a dynamic, energetic, self-motivated professional who will work under the support and supervision of the Band Administrator. He/She ensures that the mandate of overall Governance is carried out professionally and in accordance with current Policies and create new policies if the need arises for the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • To Provide advice, direction and interpretation of all policies and procedures
  • Management and oversight of Ahtahkakoop’s Annual General Meeting
  • Writing Governance documents and reports as required including regular review of governance best practises.
  • Support and provide guidance to the Council, Boards and staff on governance related matters
  • Responsible for knowledge of developments in the areas of Ahtahkakoops mandate and provide briefings to committee chairs, council and management
  • Coordinate the preparation for and follow up to committee meetings, including agendas, reports to governance bodies and the written record of the meetings
  • Preservation of corporate files and documents for Ahtahkakoop, council, boards and supporting the Band Administrator as required
  • Act as a leading source on matters related to internal and external governance processes
  • Manage and maintains draft agendas, minutes and reports for designated committee or decision making bodies
 
Qualification, Skills, Knowledge and Experience
As the ideal candidate, you should have strong post-secondary academic credentials that may include a degree in Political Studies, Indigenous Studies, or related Field, as well as at least five years related work experience or senior management expertise. Experience Ideally gained in management or in a Tribal Council role or working with different levels of government in First Nations and Non First nations areas. Must have knowledge of First Nations Governance, legal rules, systems and guidelines as well as provincial and federal legislations, policy and initiatives impacting First Nations. Must have proven knowledge skills and abilities in project management. In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles. Be proficient in computer skills. Understand and be willing to learn about inherent rights of First Nations, First Nations Treaties and the relationship between the Crown and First Nations Governance models. Must have excellent written and communication skills to deal effectively and efficiently with all. Must be well organized and ensure that confidential matters remain confidential. Must have Negotiation skills, leadership skills and facilitation skills. Be able to multi-task and work with minimum supervision. Must possess a valid drivers license and willing to submit a CPIC.

  • Level 2.0 must hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited post-secondary institution specializing in Justice or Police Studies. In addition he/she must also have acquired at least (3) three years experience in Judicial and/or Human Services at the First Nations level.
  • Alternatively, the individual designated as Level 1.0 should have a diploma or certificate in any of the above mentioned faculties complimented by a combination of training and/or experience in Judical and/or Human Services at the First Nations level

Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday, may be required to assist IT and Teaching staff after hours and weekends if needed.
Works under the Supervision of the Information Technology Coordinator.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting to assemble, configure, install and test computers and peripheral equipment as required
  • Assisting to install software and assist with support and training of staff as required including professional development in basic technology use
  • Assisting to set up cabling and networks as directed
  • Assist with the establishment and maintenance of appropriate data backup, firewall, and virus scan systems
  • Provide assistance with inventory control and maintenance
  • Assisting to maintain and update system images and rollout of tested system image using image software
  • Perform computer maintenance including virus scans, repairs, cleaning etc


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid CLASS 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation to work
  • Secondary and/or postsecondary education
  • Experience working in an office setting; committing to attendance expectations
  • To work as a team player displaying a positive attitude

Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join their team. The Director of Finance is responsible for leading the financial administration of the Cree Nation. The Director of Finance is responsible for the overall monitoring and reporting on the financial affairs of the Cree Nation, maintenance of all financial management policies and procedures, and implementation of the Cree Nations risk assessment process. They will provide key financial input for decision making to safeguard the Cree Nation’s assets and manage its financial health.  The Director of Finance will function under the supervision of the Administrator.

​Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Keep current on the requirements needed to meet legal regulations, funding and the Financial Administration Law
  • Maintain and update the finance policy and procedures of the Cree Nation
  • Attend meetings of the Chief and Council, Finance and Audit Committee and other relevant committees and provide financial reports as applicable
  • Oversee day to day management of the Cree nation’s financial administration system
  • Facilitate requests for any information required by the external auditor and evaluate their performance
  • Prepare annual forecasts, capital and operating budgets and a five-year financial plan with input from relevant department heads, including any long- term debt financing proposals
  • Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements, required schedules and special purpose reports
  • Monitor revenues and expenses and prepare budget to actual reports
  • Assessing and managing financial reporting risk and reporting risks
  • Administer the Cree Nations bank accounts, assign banking duties and review and approve account reconciliations
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Administrator and/or Designate

Qualification, Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
  • Minimum Five (5) to seven (7) years of working in a financial administration/management role, preferably in a First Nation’s environment
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • Accredited CPA or a CPA candidate with the exception of completion
  • Accredited  CAFM is considered an asset
  • Training in Human Resources is recommended
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, mentor and motivate others
  • High degree of ethics, confidentiality and integrity
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment Criminal record check
  • Must possess a Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers Licence and have reliable transportation

  • Level 2 must possess a grade 12 standing or equivalent complimented by valid certification in Early Childhood Education (ECE).  He/she should also have at least three (3) years’ experience in childcare.  Alternately the individual designated as level one (1) should possess a grade 10 education complimented by at least three (3) years’ experience in childcare.
  • He/she should also be certified in (ECE).

The Childcare Worker will also be required to pass a police security check and Child abuse record check.  Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle to get to work daily.

The ability to speak/understand Cree is an asset.

The Outreach Worker will develop positive working relationships with the Housing, Social Development, Justice, ACFS, Education and Ahtahkakoop Staff.
