Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation Centre is seeking an enthusiastic individual to assist the BAND in providing emergency services and assistance and other community-based supports. The Emergency Management Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the Band Administrator and/or Designate

Position: EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR
Type: FULL TIME TERM POSITION – Six(6) month probationary period.
Salary: Depending on qualifications and experience.

SUMMARY: The Emergency Management Coordinator is responsible for preparing and maintaining thorough response plans that allows for prompt action and readiness in the event of a disaster or safety threat. The incumbent is expected to take a proactive and analytical approach when identifying response measures to ensure a high degree of confidence and reliability. This job position would implement the necessary response plan, and function as the lead coordinator where actual, imminent and/or potential emergencies arise.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • post-secondary education or professional training in a related discipline and/or years of experience in like position
  • experience working within the area(s) of Public Health and/or Emergency Response
  • strong planning and organizational skills
  • good public-speaking and communication skills are required
  • able to work calmly and effectively in high pressure environments or situations
  • exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
  • experience using computers and MS Office Suite
  • valid driver’s license
  • satisfactory CPIC check
