Position Summary:
The Ahtahkakoop Child & Family Services Inc. is seeking a Protection Worker. Under the
direction of the Protection Manager, the Protection Worker is to respond immediately to all allegations of the maltreatment of children. Along with relevant assessments, the Protection Worker will determine if a child(ren) is in need of protection. The Protection Worker develops tentative treatment and intervention plans in at risk cases and takes emergency action where indicated to protect a child(ren). You must possess a strong knowledge of human services related polices, practices and procedures. The successful candidate must have a BISW or BSW AND 2 to 5 years direct child protection services experience.

Candidates must clearly indicate in their covering letter or resume where they have acquired their knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Qualifications:
➢ Must possess a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW or BISW) and a minimum of 2 years of
experience
➢ Knowledge and commitment to the FSIN Child Welfare and Family Support Act. The
Child and Family Services Act and the Saskatchewan Child Abuse Protocol.
➢ Must be computer literate and able to work effectively on database programs.
➢ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
➢ Must have Structured Decision Making (SDM) training.
➢ Knowledge of the Cree culture and language would be an asset.
➢ Able to make decisions while working under pressure.

Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join their team. The Director of Finance is responsible for leading the financial administration of the Cree Nation. The Director of Finance is responsible for the overall monitoring and reporting on the financial affairs of the Cree Nation, maintenance of all financial management policies and procedures, and implementation of the Cree Nations risk assessment process. They will provide key financial input for decision making to safeguard the Cree Nation’s assets and manage its financial health.  The Director of Finance will function under the supervision of the Administrator.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Keep current on the requirements needed to meet legal regulations, funding and the Financial Administration Law
  • Maintain and update the finance policy and procedures of the Cree Nation
  • Attend meetings of the Chief and Council, Finance and Audit Committee and other relevant committees and provide financial reports as applicable
  • Oversee day to day management of the Cree nation’s financial administration system
  • Facilitate requests for any information required by the external auditor and evaluate their performance
  • Prepare annual forecasts, capital and operating budgets and a five-year financial plan with input from relevant department heads, including any long- term debt financing proposals
  • Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements, required schedules and special purpose reports
  • Monitor revenues and expenses and prepare budget to actual reports
  • Assessing and managing financial reporting risk and reporting risks
  • Administer the Cree Nations bank accounts, assign banking duties and review and approve account reconciliations.
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Administrator and/or Designate

Qualification, Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
  • Minimum Five (5) to seven (7) years of working in a financial administration/management role, preferably in a First Nation’s environment
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • Accredited CPA or a CPA candidate with the exception of completion
  • Accredited  CAFM is considered an asset
  • Training in Human Resources is recommended
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, mentor and motivate others
  • High degree of ethics, confidentiality and integrity
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment Criminal record check
  • Must possess a Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers Licence and have reliable transportation

 QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Diploma of Nursing with 3 years nursing experience preferably in the areas of infectious diseases and community health;

To Oversee and direct all staff in the local administration and to facilitate regular scheduled meetings for staff under their authority.

Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation is seeking an outdoor enthusiastic individual to be responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing initiatives that respond to the environmental needs of the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation.  This role will be primarily 40% outdoor and 60% indoor. The successful applicant will work directly under the Lands Manager to assist with assessing the land, testing waters and conducting soil samples and monitoring. You will work collaboratively with the Lands Manager, Funders, Partners and the GIS technician. The ideal candidate will take initiative with projects and reporting, file management, research, minute taking, meeting prep, creation of community notices/updates and will be required to assist the Lands Manager with everyday office operations.
 
ASSETS: Knowledge of herd management, food sovereignty, history of Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation Lands, Traditional knowledge or willingness to learn. Be open and willing to learning new skills and having a flexible job description.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • 2 year diploma in Environmental Management or Field of Agricultural studies
  • Effective communication is required to assist Lands Manager with community      engagement strategies
  • Experience with leading and managing programs and initiatives
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Good analytical and critical thinking skills; able to respond and adapt to external factors.
  • Excellent computer skills with the ability to use MS Office Suite, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel and Canva
  • Working in all weather conditions
  • A CPIC will be required.
