This employee will function under the supervision of the Agricultural Benefits Director. Position: Specific Claims Assistant Type: Full-Time Term Employment 1 year contract Salary: $40,000/year SUMMARY: Under direct supervision, THE SPECIFIC CLAIMS ASSISTANT maintains the Chart of Accounts and ensures that correct accounting codes are applied for all expenses within the Specific Claims Department of the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation Band. The Specific Claims Assistant is responsible for arranging meetings and recording meeting minutes. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: · Training and experience in accountancy or bookkeeping. · Experience with arranging meetings and recording meeting minutes. · Experience with cheque processing using Quick Books, SAGE Accounting Software. · Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook). · Knowledge of principles and procedures of accounting and public finance. Experience with General Office duties. · Must provide a Criminal Records Check. · Must have a reliable vehicle and a Class 5 Driver’s License. The Intake Officer will function under the supervision of the Jordans Principle Service Coordinator of the Band which is situated at the Health Centre. Position: Intake Officer Type: Full-Time Term Position –Six (6) month probationary period Salary: Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience SUMMARY: Under direct supervision, the Intake Officer is responsible for serving as the contact person in their community for social requests. Document case files, data entry of various other financial activities for the Jordan’s Principle program and clients of Ahtahkakoop. Build positive relationships with community resources and collaboration with existing community-based programs and services. Assist, maintain and follow up with all activities of the Jordan’s Principle Department such as various transactions, scheduling and monitoring of all Jordan’s Principle families and activities. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: For purposes of determining an employees’ salary classification to the proposed Ahtahkakoop salary grid, the individual designated as Level 2.0 must hold a diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution specializing in accounting, administration, arts, commerce or education. Alternatively, the individual designated as Level 1.0 should have a certificate in any of the above mentioned faculties complimented by a combination of training and/or experience in the provision of management support services at the First Nation Level.
